I agreed Malice
Grinding for gold/titles/items gets boring quickly. As for me, I'm currently playing some of the new PS3 games I brought (LBP, RE5, Killzone 2 to just named a few)
I'll be playing GW once I get the urge to do so. For now, it's just a 3D-chat room for me! lol

GW basically got boring when they released EotN. It was fun for a few days, then it turned into a grind.

Or, like I suggested, play a different genre of games...MMOs are not the only games that exist and is probably actually the smallest genre, when it comes to number of games.

They said they're bored with this game, not with games in general, hence saying "stop playing games" is just ridiculous advice. A lot of people have said that they've tried to find another game like GW and failed. My point is that there are many other types and genres of games than just MMOs and Guild Wars, and perhaps, if one is bored of GW, they should try something different entirely. I love RPGs, but I play more than just that. I love Guild Wars, but it's not the only thing I play, not by a long shot. I love my DS, but it's not the only system I play on. And so on. Variety is the spice of life, and I think people lock themselves into too narrow a mindset of what they like and don't want to step outside of it.
Give nothing in return? How about hours and hours of enjoyment? That's generally enough of a return for most people. You say 'learn an instrument' or 'learn a new language'. You then say 'do something you can enjoy for a long time', which makes me wonder if you've done either. Because I have, and it's a lot of long, tedious work, which most of the time is not very enjoyable at all, and most people do not stick with either because they simply don't have the time, patience, or money to continue. Whereas 99% of video games you pay for one time, and that's it - you're not obligated to play, you do it because you think it's fun. If it's not fun, then you don't have to do it. There aren't really standards and expectations.
And if you're bored of one game but don't necessarily want to quit gaming - try playing something else.
Video games may be a hole in your wallet, but that's not all they are, not by a long shot, and quite honestly, that can be said of anything that is designed for entertainment.

Is that deafening noise an Amen from the choir?
To OP, like others have said, go try something else. GW will be here when you're ready again. We all do it.

Grass is always greener really works. Trying other games will help you appreciate various aspects of GW. Trouble is the pay to play model is all there is for the most part.
I left LOTRO after they made drastic changes that made me want to leave. The big thing that would help GW become a more inviting game would be to drop loot scaling, stop worrying about who has what, and bring back a reason to play. As is GW is really farm wars. All I see in most camps is looking for a runner, leechers needed, lfg to farm ... BORING If Lootscaling is built into GW2 count me out. Tired of imaginary economies being the focus.
Take a break and come back, best thing you can do.

Lol I quit a long time ago and now I'm playing CoD4. :P I came back to the GW forums after like 4 months to see if any of my old friends are still around. D:
Anyways, one of my biggest mistakes in the game was going for Gods. The huge grind really drained my interest in GW so I just left.
Trin / Arala, if you guys read this, send me a message!

If you want an MMO fix but GW isn't doing it for you, you can try Runes of Magic (it's free).
I'm playing Aion (free Chinese open beta) right now, with the English language pack, and having a blast. It's so much better than I thought it would be.

How can you only just be getting bored of Guild Wars now?
They made an average game and made it steadily worse over 3 years.
